Your Questions, Answered Honestly.

Finding the right caregiver means asking hard questions about trust, safety, process, and fit. We welcome every single one of them. Here are the ones families ask us most, answered with the transparency you deserve.

Is Unique Nannies the right fit for my family?

If you’re a busy parent in New Jersey looking for a carefully vetted, professionally matched caregiver not just someone available, then yes. We work best with families who value quality over speed, long-term stability over a quick fix, and a personalized search over browsing a database of profiles on their own. If that’s you, we’d love to connect.

It begins with an Assessment Call, a warm, unhurried conversation where we learn about your family’s schedule, your child’s personality, your parenting style, and what “the right fit” truly means for your household. From there, we handle the search, vetting, and candidate selection. You’ll meet your top matches, have the option of a working trial, and we’ll guide you through every step until your nanny’s first day and beyond.

Typically between four and eight weeks, depending on the specificity of your needs, your availability to meet candidates, and how quickly communication flows between us.

Many of our best placements come through our existing network; caregivers we already know, have spoken with, and in many cases have placed before; private recruitment, social media, and trusted referrals.

After our consultation, we carefully identify candidates who align with your schedule, your parenting philosophy, your household’s boundaries, and your child’s developmental stage. The match is personalized.

Yes. Many of our caregivers are bilingual in English and Spanish, and early bilingual exposure through a trusted caregiver is one of the most meaningful developmental gifts you can give a young child. If this is important to your family, simply let us know during your consultation and we’ll prioritize it in your search.

Every candidate completes an extensive safety screening process before we ever introduce them to a family. This includes an extensive online application, in-depth phone interview, rigorous reference checks, state criminal court search, national criminal database alias search, national sex offender registry check, DMV driving record check, Social Security number trace, address history verification, government watch list screening, and verification of current CPR and First Aid certification.

Every nanny we place is 21 years of age or older with at least three years of professional childcare experience, CPR and First Aid certified, fluent in English, legally authorized to work in the U.S., and holds a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Beyond credentials, we look for caregivers who are genuinely passionate about children’s development, not just qualified on paper.

Our fee structure is straightforward and fully transparent:

A Search Deposit of $1,000 (non-refundable) launches your dedicated search, covering your consultation, initial marketing, and the vetting of tailored candidates.

A Placement Fee of $3,500 is due upon completion of background checks. This covers our comprehensive screening process, background checks, trial period coordination, employment agreement resources, and ongoing support.

Every long-term placement comes with a 90-day replacement guarantee. If the match isn’t working within that window, we restart the search to find the right fit at no additional placement cost
